Even though I have dined out at many restaurants this is my first review.
I prefer to give you my recent experiences at the Hopland Inn restaurant.
Although I was told that most reviews are done six months after a business has been opened.
But I do not want you to miss out. It may not have everything working smoothly
but consider that this restaurant just opened less than a month.
These are items I consider as important while dining out; ambience, quality of food, costs and services.
First Section:
How is the ambience?
It is the lighting,
the various background noises,
the choice of seating,
the smells and the decor.
When I first entered the Hopland Inn about three weeks ago
(Hopland Inn opened to the public on February 14)
the place was filled with people who I knew and people I did not know.
The bar room and the library seating were all taken
and people were
standing side by side. The energy of the peoples movement and voices were
muffled by the spacious floors and high ceilings. So anyone could still have
a conversation without having to raise their voices.
After about a half an hour in the building, my eyes started to water and my throat to itch
from the presence of freshly painted fumes. But now all those paint fumes
are absence and new cusine smells are present.
Prior to writing this review, the main dinning room opened.
A very spacious room with a blond hardwood floor with at least 20 or more tables. They also have
a smaller room called the 'Pomo Room' which has six to eight tables.
What I like about this restaurant is that you can sit anywhere to eat.
At the bar, Pomo room, the library or the main dinning room.
I really like this place (ambience) for you can sit with someone intimatley or
be with the social crowd.
The restaurant needs some decor. For instance,
the main dinning and the Pomo room lack wall decor. The wall and ceiling lighting
and the warm light brown colored walls keep you from any dining distractions.
I know that the decor additions will soon enhance the ambience
and this change will be done in the very near future.
Overall the ambience is three stars (***).
Second Section:
How is the quality of food?
